We’re always excited to get new work from the innovative Kurt B. This year at AGE we were presented with the opportunity to get a collab from him and the up and comer from VA, Mike Raman! Even though Mike has only worked with boro for so long, he has quickly mastered the medium, likely due to a lifelong passion for glass and many years of hot shop experience with soft glass. This collaborative effort showcases Mike’s new series of functionals, which have a unique silhouette with expertly shaped curves. The aforementioned form is combined with Kurt’s new variation on his amorphous windows series, which feature more windows than ever before (this piece has 37! ). The windows also appear to have more texture than in the first series, resulting in an almost geological appearance. This dynamic collab measures in at just under 9 inches tall with a base that is 2.75 inches in diameter. It has a 10mm handmade female joint and even comes with a QCB!
